What is a Covering; is it Biblical?

To answer the first question, a covering is a pastor and church who covers a ministry with prayer.

In this respect we all need a covering.  A covering to me is much more than a prayer covering. Let me try to explain:  A para church ministry or a new church should first be properly launched, (set forth,. sanctioned by the Church.)  After this event it is the responsibility of that Pastor and Church  to see to it that that baby will survive and thrive. How is that accomplished? First you pray for them for protection and direction. Praying for protection you understand The Church and Pastor that launches you should pray for direction for you just as you would pray for direction for yourself.  It is safe to have a spiritual person who can help you stay on track:  Some one who has walked where you are trying to go, an experienced Pastor.  The person you trust to tell you the truth, not some one to go along with what you are doing, irregardless of the consequences.  We all need somebody.

Second, a para church or a new church should be supported until they can stand on there own.  Financing, equipment, personnel and Prayer support.

One reason I'm writing this is because so many ministries are out here now with coverings that they tell what to do,  The trend is to find some lest knowledgeable Pastor to cover the ministry with prayer, but leave me alone, I don't need any direction.

To answer the second question is it Biblical?  No  and Yes!!??

NO, the word covering is not present, in this usage, in the Bible,  Yes the word covering is in the Bible but not with the above meaning.

Where did this term come from and why does the Church use it?  I don't know.  I believe that it was added because it was needed.

Minister's Quick Tips

Let God open and close doors for you.

It is inappropriate for ministers to ask for preaching time.  God knows where He wants you. God is the one in charge of your development, not you.
If you are a minister serving under a Pastor, you need to have a good relationship and fellowship with him.  You should be able to talk to him about any and every thing.
When you don't know what to do, call your Pastor.

If you have a ministry that your pastor doesn't know about; you are out of order.

If you have a ministry and your pastor is not the covering; you are out of order.

Guard  your prayer time.  The most important thing you can do for your ministry is to be in tune with God.  Hearing from God daily is the order of the day.  In order to accomplish this, you must be a worshiper.

As a general rule when you go out to preach carry the KJV.  Some churches will not allow anything else.
